Complete answer: The French Revolution marked the revolt by the French citizens against the monarchy and the feudal system that persisted in France. The upheaval as a result of poor economic policies and the dissatisfaction caused by the attitude of the french monarchy. Although the revolution led to massive bloodshed, the French Revolution remains one of the most important examples of what people can do if they raise their voices together. The Right to equality, liberty and right to form unions are some of the rights that we enjoy today which are actual results of the French Revolution. The Fundamental Rights that we enjoy today draws its origin from the French Revolution:
1. Right to Equality (Article 14 of the Indian Constitution): This was one of the most important rights which was taken from the revolution. According to this, any person living in India shall enjoy equal rights before the law.
2.Right to Liberty and Freedom(Article 19-22 of the Indian Constitution): The Declaration of the Rights of Man from the French Revolution draws attention to the liberty and rights of the common people. This right in India allows its citizens to live their lives with dignity.
3. Freedom of Speech and Expression(Article 19 1(A): This right allows all the citizens of India, the freedom to express one’s viewpoint through any means. The freedom of speech includes the liberty to propagate one’s viewpoints along with the views of other people. It also allows the people of India to form assemblies, cooperatives and unions.
The French Revolution inspired Indian freedom fighters like Ram Mohan Roy, Tipu Sultan. The ideals of freedom and equality played a significant role in India’s independence. The emperor of France Louis XVI was executed and Napoleon Bonaparte took over the country in 1799 and became the emperor in 1804. It gave more power to ordinary people. The people entered the Bastille prison and freed seven prisoners. In 1789 the national Assembly was formed which later on 26th August published the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen.
