Hint: Atmosphere on the earth consists of different types of gases and this gas covers the atmosphere and at the same time there are several layers present in the atmosphere which are important and useful for the earth in several ways.
Complete answer:
So the atmosphere was made up of so many and these gases protect the earth in very several ways, ozone is one of them which was the part of the atmosphere present in the stratosphere and it protects the earth from the harmful radiation that is coming to the earth from sunlight.
And some gases flowed in large scales on the earth and that causes the formation of wind on the earth, so the wind is nothing but the flow of gases and this wind is also present on the space, where it was formed by gases that are emitted from the sunlight.
On the earth due to the presence of a large number of gases, there was a difference in the pressure of the atmosphere, and this difference causes the formation of the wind, where it was of various speeds.
On the earth, one effect by a name called Coriolis makes the wind, because this effect is not there in the region of equator.
Apart from those effects, there was another major factor that forms the wind was differential heating, where the earth was not heated the same at all places and especially at polar and equator parts, which cause the wind, and winds of the large scale tend to be formed by the geostrophic balance on the earth.
Thermal wind is produced due to differences in the geostrophic balance.
And this wind is used for various purposes of mankind on the earth.
Note: Major use of wind is to produce electric power, but it can happen only where it is captured only if they were reduced to zero velocity, at the same time wind also affects the earth by causing the erosion of the lands and migrations of the dust in deserts, etc.
