Hint: In order to solve this question, we should know about temperature. Temperature is used to express the hotness or coldness of a body, more the heat is present in a system higher its temperature whereas ;lower the heat energy lesser the temperature. Here we will understand the effect of altitude of a place on temperature.
Complete Step By Step Answer:
In our earth’s any place, the temperature is due to atmospheric pressure ( the pressure with which air pushes its particle in space ) and higher the pressure, more the dense air became and this dense air results in temperature of that place. Now, as we rise in altitude the less air is available in the atmosphere and hence the atmospheric pressure decreases and we know that less the pressure of air the lesser the temperature there will be. So, when we go to high altitudes we feel cold due to the lower temperature of the atmosphere there.
Experimentally, it’s found that for every rise in altitude, the temperature of the atmosphere decreases by one degree Celsius.
Hence, higher the temperature of a place is low in high altitudes.
Note:
It should be remembered that, most of the mountains are covered with snow because at such high altitudes temperature is very low and also when we go in high altitude we feel difficult to breathe its due to very low atmospheric pressure and also we feel cold due to low temperature.
