Hint :Temperature is the physical quantity which expresses hot and cold. Temperature is the manifestation of the thermal energy which is present in all matter and is the source of the occurrence of the heat, flow of energy when any body comes in contact with another which is colder or hotter. Let us understand the effect of temperature on collision theory.
Complete Step By Step Answer:
Temperature affects and changes both the frequency and the effectiveness of the collisions.
Collision theory can be related to the kinetic-molecular theory which explains how all the matter comprises the particles and the particles which are in constant motion. As the particles move around at times, they collide with each other.
A reaction can occur if the particles collide in the right orientation and with the enough particles and they rearrange and form a new combination.
According to the theory of Collison, there are two ways to increase reaction rate.
To increase the frequency of the collisions
Increase the fraction of collisions which are effect
If the temperature is increased, the particles bump into one another and the reaction goes up. Therefore, the total energy within the particles also increases and so when they collide, they increase energy which increases the fraction of the effective collisions.
Note :
Always remember that at higher temperatures the particles can collide more repeatedly and with more energy it makes the reaction take place more quickly. With increase in the temperature the reaction takes place with the increase in rate of the reaction.
