Acid rain: Over the decades, acid rain has been increasing in the tropics because of the growing industrialization which greatly hampers the functioning and the flora and fauna of the rainforest.

 Use of Fertilizer and Pesticides: The use of fertilizers and pesticides for agricultural purposes nearby the forest can take a toll on rainforest wildlife which includes the critical pollinators as well as the seed dispersals.

Use of chemicals: The toxic chemicals which are derived from pesticides or fertilizers can cause a life or damage the rainforest and the living inhabitants. When chemicals accumulate the food chain, many top predators are very likely to be affected.

Dumping of trash: The disposal of trash and human waste into the water bodies from overcrowded cities has resulted in serious problems in many tropical countries in such a way that in some areas, rivers are no longer safe for human use. It has also affected the life of plants and animals.
