Hint: Social diversity refers to diversity (noticeable heterogeneity) relating to human society and its members. Accommodation, in this case, refers to a settlement of differences.

Complete answer: India is a democratic republic State. It is a democracy. Here, the Constitution is the supreme law of the country through which the elected government sources power. India is a vast nation with a vast diversity, be it in terms of traditions, castes, cultures, colour, religions, races, languages and ethnic groups. This might give birth to conflict due to the many differences, however, it cannot be removed. It can be accommodated instead. This means settlement of the differences between various communities and people in India. The Indian Constitution enforces the equal participation of all people in various offices and institutions irrespective of differences. Equal representation of minorities is strived for and ensured, along with the majority. The fundamental rights and interests of all people, all citizens of India, are protected, irrespective of traditions, castes, cultures, colour, religions, races, languages and ethnic groups. India is a secular nation by law and this guarantees each and every person to even practice, propagate and profess their own religion, as a right, without interference. There is unity in diversity geographically, linguistic and politically which accommodates social diversity.

Note: In this question, it will be helpful for the student to recall an example of how social diversity is accommodated in India. Discrimination in India is illegal, if it is on the basis of caste, creed, gender, language, religion, etc.
