The differences between the vas deferens and vasa efferentia are as follows:

Vas deferens	Vasa efferentia
The vas deferens tubular structure that carries sperm from the epididymis to the ejaculatory duct. It receives secretions from the prostate gland and seminal vesicle.	The vasa efferentia is thin and connects the rete testis with the initial section of the epididymis.
The inner wall of the vas deferens is lined by pseudostratified columnar epithelial tissue. Its middle layer is made up of connective tissue and visceral muscle, and outer layer of adventitia.	The vasa efferentia are convoluted thin tube-like structures and composed of columnar ciliated and nonciliated cells. The stereocilia facilitate the forward movement of semen.
Vas deferens is present outside the testis.	Vasa efferentia is present inside the testis and therefore known as intratesticular.
There is one pair of vas deferens present in the male body, with one duct carrying sperm from each testis to the left and right ejaculatory ducts.	In humans, there are approximately 15-20 vasa efferentia, which also occupy nearly one-third of the head of the epididymis.

• 1. Vasectomy: This is a contraceptive procedure in which the Vas deferens is permanently cut and tied in order to block the sperm conducting pathway.

2. The incision of vasa efferentia does not stop the flow of semen as it is contributed mainly by the prostate gland and seminal vesicle but the semen will be lacking sperm cells produced by the testes.

3. The columnar epithelium of vasa efferentia also absorbs some amount of water from the semen making it more concentrated.
