-The unisexual flowers can be divided into two types called monoecious and dioecious. The monoecious plants perform both self and cross-pollination as both male and female flowers are in the same flower. But the dioecious plants can only perform cross-pollination.
-On the other hand, bisexual flowers can perform both self and cross-pollination as they have both male and female reproductive organs in the same flower. Hence, they are also called androgynous flowers.
The unisexual flowers are also called incomplete flowers due to the absence of either male or female organs. But bisexual flowers are complete as they have both the participants of sexual reproduction in them.
Note: The bisexual flowers have the advantage of cross and self-pollination in the same plant. Thus, the requirement of pollination medium is not required as much as in unisexual plants. A good example of a unisexual flower plant is the papaya. Other unisexual flower-bearing plants are watermelon, corn, and mulberry. Examples of bisexual plants include rose, lily, hibiscus, sweet pea, and mustard.
