Hint: Periodic table consists of elements which are arranged on the basis of increase of atomic number. There are four blocks of the periodic table, that is, s-block, p-block, d-block and f-block.
Complete step by step answer:
Normal elements are the elements of the periodic table present in s-block and p-block of the periodic table and transition elements are the elements present in d-block of the periodic table.
Difference between normal elements and transition elements are as follows:
Additional Information:
The large middle section of the periodic table is occupied by transition elements. They are termed as transition elements because of their position between s-block and p-block elements. Some examples of transition elements are, iron, zinc etc. The general electronic configuration of transition elements is $\left( {n - 1} \right){d^{1 - 10}}n{s^{1 - 2}}$. The transition elements and their compounds possess catalytic properties.
Note:
Transition elements are occupied in the group 3 to 12 of the periodic table. Some examples of transition elements are, iron, zinc, titanium etc. The transition elements possess variable valency because of presence of valence electrons in two sets of orbital, that is, $\left( {n - 1} \right)d$ and $ns$. Because of incomplete d-orbital they are colorful in nature. Colour of titanium is purple.

Difference between normal elements and transition elements are as follows:
| Normal elements | Transition elements |
| 1) Normal elements are present in side of the periodic table | 1) Transition elements are present in centre of the periodic table |
| 2) Normal elements belong to s-block and p-block of the periodic table | 2) Transition elements belong to d-block of the periodic table |
| 3)Only valence shell of normal elements is incomplete | 3) Last two shells of transition elements is incomplete |
| 4) Consists of metal, non-metal and metalloids | 4) Consists of only metals |
