Hint:Genetic linkage is defined as the process in which the DNA of one chromosome gets linked with the other chromosome and gets inherited. This may occur due to crossing over during the process of sexual reproduction.
Complete answer:
Based on crossing over two types of linkage are found:-
> Complete linkage:-
1. When genes present in the same chromosome have no tendency to separate out during crossing over it is termed as complete linkage.
2. Only parental combinations are observed and no recombinants are formed
3. The linkage in which genes are inherited together for many generations.
4. It is observed in the case of drosophila
5. It leads to red green colour blindness and haemophilia.
> Incomplete linkage
1. When genes present in the same chromosomes have a tendency to separate out during crossing over it is termed as incomplete linkage.
2. Recombinants are observed in this linkage.
3. Genes are not inherited for many generations but separates out.
4. It is observed in pea ,maize.
5. It leads to total colour blindness and nephritis.

>Incomplete linkage is also termed as partial linkage.
> Linkage involves two or more numbers of genes which are present on the same chromosome.
> Linkage is mainly observed by test cross of the progeny data.
> Linkage reduces the chances of variability.
> Linkage helps organisms to maintain parental characters.
> It reduces recombination chances.
> Lesser will be distance between two genes more will be the strength of linkage
