Hint: White League was a paramilitary group allied with the Democratic Party, it was also very instrumental in overthrowing the Republican rule and harassing African Americans in Louisiana after Reconstruction. They were a corrupt organization.

Complete answer:
Let us understand that the White League was established in 1874, shortly after the time’s President, Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation1863, which called for the emancipation of all slaves. The so-called White League was the reaction of outraged slave-benefiting or slave-owning people of the country in Confederate states, and it originated with many Confederate veterans who fought during the massacre of Colfax, in which white southern people killed nearly black men.

This party of white men (so-called in the name itself) decided to reverse all of the gains that the northerners had made in emancipating all slaves. Also, they chose candidates who were pro-slavery to run for office.

But the south is considered Democrat at this time, while the north is considered Republican.

Note: Note that in several respects, the Emancipation Declaration was constrained. We could see that it only extended to states that had seceded from the US, leaving slavery in the obedient frontier states unaffected. While the Emancipation Proclamation did not eradicate slavery in the United States, it seized the hearts and minds of millions of Americans and altered the course of the war. Any advance of federal forces after January 1 of the year 1863 extended the scope of liberty.
