Hint: Swadeshi is a movement for national independence in India which was related to boycotting foreign goods and also encouraging the use of domestic products. The word Swadeshi was used for the very first time by Mahatma Gandhi.

Complete answer: Swadeshi marked a very important era. Swadeshi brought into politics a new class of people without any difference of class and also large crowds at meetings took the oath of Swadeshi. Literate Indians realized that the British wanted to keep India backward and poor. It taught the press to be fearless , students to defy unjust authority, and to make sacrifices of their lives for the sake of their country, Hindus and Muslims to cooperate.
Like this, the idea of swadeshi helped Indians to be united against the British.

Let us discuss the Swadeshi movement:
The Swadeshi movement was a part of the Indian Independence movement and also contributed to the development of Indian nationalism, it was begun by Indian nationals opposing the Partition of Bengal, and was one of the most successful movements against the British rule. It was a focus of Mahatma Gandhi, who described it as the soul of self-rule(Swaraj). The movement ended in the year 1911.

Note: The charkha was the symbol of the Swadeshi movement, which embodies several things like self-sufficiency, Swadeshi, and even inter-dependency. Soon the Charkha was used all over the country as a symbol of the national movement. It is the Spinning wheel which was invented by Gandhi Ji at Pune’s Yerawada jail.
