Hint:
The climate of India has a great range of weather conditions across a vast geographic scale and varied topography, making generalizations difficult. A part of India may be super chilly and cold, while at the same time the other part might be full of humidity. Therefore, the country never has a particular type of climate, it’s changing every day, every month.
Our country, India in total hosts six major climatic subtypes, counting from arid deserts in the west, alpine tundra and glaciers in the north, to humid tropical regions promoting rain forests in the southwest and lastly the island territories.
Complete solution:
Certain regional variations do exist in climatic conditions. This is due to the variations in natural factors like temperature, precipitation, atmospheric pressure, wind, humidity and altitude from place to place.
India has a variable climate. This can be suggested with the following examples -
1. During summers, the mercury at times touches 50°C in some parts of the Rajasthan desert, whereas it might be around 20°C or even lesser in the parts of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
2. While in winters, night temperature at Drass district in Jammu and Kashmir may be as low as 40°C. While Thiruvananthapuram on the other hand might have a temperature around 22°C.
3. As such visible variation is not expected in coastal areas. Due to the temperature pattern because of the moderating influence of the sea.
Note:
In India, many regional variations in climatic conditions are found as India is such a massive country. But with the influence of monsoons, India has a broad Unity.
Several factors such as location, altitude, distance from the Sea, general relief produce regional variation in the pattern of winds, temperature and rainfall.
