Hint:
Every combination of atoms is a molecule and then a compound will be the molecule made of atoms from different elements.
Complete step by step solution:
A compound is a substance composed of two or more identical molecules or in a simple way we can say it as it is a substance formed when two or more similar or identical chemical molecules make a bond together or it is the combination of two or more compounds.
The generally known compounds are of four types on the basis of how elements are bonded together. The four types of compounds are following:
1. Molecules held together by a covalent bond
2. Molecule held together by ionic bond
3.Molecules held together inter - metallic bond
4. Molecules held together by coordinate covalent bond
Compounds are found all over the world and are infinite in numbers. Our life is surrounded by so many compounds. Compounds can be of pure or impure form.
Take water as an example which is the basic and essential thing in our daily life. It is a chemical compound which is made by the combination of hydrogen and oxygen where these two elements are in the ratio of 2:1. Let me give you another life example: table salt or common salt that we consume daily its formula is ( sodium chloride) is formed by the combination of one sodium and one chlorine element around these are present in the ratio of 1:1.
Note:
All compounds are molecules but not all molecules are compounds. For example is a molecule but not a compound but is a molecule and a compound.
