Infection in these muscles leads to certain disorders such as Myocarditis is the acute or chronic inflammation of the myocardium. Myocarditis can affect your heart muscles and your heart’s electrical system, reducing the ability to pump and causing rapid or abnormal heart rhythms.

A viral infection usually causes myocarditis,but it can result from a reaction to drugs or be part of a more general inflammatory condition. Signs and symptoms of myocarditis include chest pain, fatigue, shortness of breath etc. When children develop myocarditis, they might have symptoms including: fever, fainting, breathing difficulties, rapid abnormal heart rhythms.
