Hint: The motion is the condition of the movement of the body by its own or an external force. Depending on the number of forces that the body withstand, the motion caused by the force is classified into two types as the simple motion and the multiple motion.
Complete answer:
The object is said to be in a simple motion, if only one of the motion takes place on the object. The examples of the simple motion are the moving of the motorcycle on the road, rotation of the mass suspended by the thread with its centre as the centre of rotation etc. But if the object moves from one position to the other by more than one motion at the same time it is called multiple motion. It is also called by the name mixed motion. The types of motion can be rotational, linear, curvilinear, periodic and the translational motion.
Note:
The multiple motions have many practical examples. The examples of the multiple motion are
1. Rotation of the earth around the sun and also revolving its own self. It possesses rotational and periodic motion at the same time.
2. While travelling in a train, the motion is linear motion, at the same time the hands of the wrist watch possess the rotational motion.
3. While travelling in a train, the motion is linear and also the fan in the train possesses rotational motion. Hence it is the multiple motions.
