Dwarfism is characterised by extremely less height in an organism as compared to others of its type. In humans, the average adult height of a dwarfism patient is below 147 cm, that is, 4 feet 10 inches. It can be of two types. Disproportionate dwarfism refers to the type where the patient either has short limbs or a short torso.
