Hint: First we have to define what the terms we need to solve the problem are. In this question we use the concept of unit conversion, so here we convert the hours into days for which we required a standard conversion like a day where there are $ 24 $ hours.
Complete step by step answer:
Day can be defined as each of the $ \dfrac{{24}}{7} $ hour periods,
Time is defined as the duration, or a precise instant,
As we know from the given problem; convert $ 48 $ hours to days.
Since $ 60 $ second is one minute, $ 60 $ minute is equal to one hour and $ 24 $ hours are equal to one day.
Thus $ 24 $ hours $ = 1 $ day
Therefore $ 1 $ hour $ = \dfrac{1}{{24}} $ day (cross multiply on both sides)
Hence from the given question $ 48 $ hours = $ \dfrac{1}{{24}} \times 48 $ days thus canceling by $ 24 $ we get
$ 48 $ Hours to days are $ 2 $ days.
Note: Multiplicand refers to the number multiplied. Multiplier refers to the number that multiplies on the first number.
Have a look at an example; while multiplying $ 5 \times 7 $ the number $ 5 $ is called the multiplicand and the number $ 7 $ is called the multiplier.
If we multiply zero ( $ 0 $ ) with a positive or negative number it will remain zero ( $ 0 $ ) only, since the product of any number by zero is zero. For example, \[ - 16\] $ \times 0 $ = $ 0 $ or $ 16 \times 0 = 0 $ , even $ - 16 \times - 12 \times 0 = 0 $ In this question first, we calculated the value of one hour in terms of days after that we found the value of $ 48 $ hours by simply multiplying the value of one hour in days with forty-eight and we got the result that there are two days in forty-eight hours.
