Hint:
The question is to find out the fraction of a given number which is in decimals and then the fraction obtained is to be converted to percent means the fraction is equal to how much percent of the given number. Firstly we will convert the given decimal number to fraction and then to percent.
Complete Step by step Solution:
In the question, we were given to convert numbers in decimal to that equivalent number is fraction. In this question, we have to covert $2.5$ which is in decimal to the fraction. Therefore $2.5$ is equivalent to $\dfrac{{25}}{{10}}$ because when we remove the decimal from the numerator a multiple of $10$ is divided to it and decimal is upto which number, only those number of multiple of $10$is divide. Hence decimal was upto $1{\text{ digit}}$. So $10$is divided.
Now $\dfrac{{25}}{{10}}$ can be written in factors as $\dfrac{{5 \times 5}}{{2 \times 5}}$. Here in numerator and denominator it gets canceled and Hence we get.
$\dfrac{5}{2}$ which is the required fraction. Now the obtained fraction is to be converted to percent.
So, $\dfrac{5}{2}$ is to be converted to percentage
For this we have to multiply $\dfrac{5}{2}$ by $100$
Which is the rule to convert fraction to percent. So we get
$\dfrac{5}{2} \times 100\% $
Which becomes $\dfrac{{500}}{2}\% $
and when $500$ in divided by $2$,
we are left with $250\% $
Therefore $2.5$ is equal to $\dfrac{5}{2}$in fraction and equivalent to $250\% $
Note:
In the given question, we had to convert the number from decimal to fraction and then from fraction to percent. The rule to convent this is to divide the multiple of $10$ upto which the decimal is placed & then from fraction to percent is to multiply the fraction by \[100\]. Hence we converted decimal to fraction and hence to decimal.
