Hint: In this question we have been given with a number which is in the decimal form. A decimal number has an integer part and a decimal point after which there are additional digits. We have to convert the decimal number into a fraction. A fraction is a number in the form of $\dfrac{a}{b}$, where $b\ne 0$.
We will do this multiplying and dividing the number by ${{10}^{1}}$ which is $10$ and remove the decimal point in the number by converting it into an integer. We will then simplify the fraction to get the required solution.
Complete step by step answer:
We have the number given to us as:
$\Rightarrow 0.8$
Now in our decimal number there are two places after the decimal and one integer value before the decimal. Since there are two decimal places, we will multiply the number by ${{10}^{1}}$ which is $10$, to remove the decimal and get the entire number in integer form. Now since we are multiplying the number by $10$, we will also divide the number by $10$ so that its value does not get changed.
On multiplying and dividing by $10$, we get:
$\Rightarrow 0.8\times \dfrac{10}{10}$
On multiplying the terms, we get:
$\Rightarrow \dfrac{8}{10}$
Now the above fraction can be written as:
$\Rightarrow \dfrac{2\times 4}{2\times 5}$
On cancelling the common term $2$, we get:
$\Rightarrow \dfrac{4}{5}$, which is the required solution.
Note: In this question we got the final solution in the form of $\dfrac{a}{b}$, where $b\ne 0$ therefore, it is in the form of a fraction. It is to be remembered that the denominator of a fraction should not be zero since division by $0$ does not exist and it is an error. A fraction is a division of two terms therefore, it can also be written as $a\div b$.
