Hint:Precipitation is the procedure in which the air becomes saturated with vapor. As it can no longer keep vapor in the form of gas, it starts to pour. There are different types of precipitation – Freezing, Liquid and Frozen. Rainfall can be described as the precipitation in the form of liquid. Rainfall has been distinguished as three main types depending on its origin: orographic or relief rainfall, cyclonic or frontal rainfall and convectional rainfall.

Complete answer:
In equatorial areas the surface of the earth gets heated due to the sun's heat. With the surface the surrounding air also gets heated. As the air gets heated, it becomes lighter and goes upwards. Condensation of the vapour occurs and results in rainfall. In equatorial areas convectional rainfall occurs daily. Convectional rainfall takes place when the sun’s energy heats the surface and so that water evaporates changing to water vapor. This moist and warm air then rises upwards and as it rises, it starts to cool. The air reaches a point known as condensation level where the water vapor condenses and turns back to liquid. This process of condensation leads to the development of clouds. As the cloud grows in weight, it finally leads to precipitation.

Hence, the correct answer is option (A).

Note:The equatorial rainforest has maximum biodiversity on Earth. This is due to plentiful sunlight and moisture . Average temperatures on a daily basis is around 28ºc. Temperatures hardly ever fall below 22ºc and cloud cover controls temperatures upto 32ºc during the day time. Rainfall levels are high all through the year Convectional rainfall leads into annual rainfall levels around 2000mm.
