Hint: To solve or say draw this construction we will draw a rough sketch. Then we will use the given dimensions of the side and diagonal of the rhombs. We will use the method of arc crossing only. So let’s start!
Complete step by step solution:
First we will write the given data,
a rhombus ABCD in which AB=4.2cm and one of the diagonal is 6.5cm
Now we will draw a rough sketch.
Now we will construct this step by step.
Step 1: Draw segment AB that is side of the rhombus equals to 4.2cm with the help of scale.
Step 2: Now take a distance equal to 4.2cm in compass and take B as center and draw an arc.
Step 3: now taking a distance equals to 6.5cm in compass and taking A as center draw another arc such that it intersects the previously drawn arc.
Step 4: now mark this intersection as point C. and join points A, B and C.
Step 5: now one more is to be constructed and that is point D. for that we will take a distance of 4.2cm in compass and will draw arcs from points A and C and the point where these arcs will intersect will be the point D.
This is the rhombus ABCD.
Note: In this construction note that we just have taken the help of the way we draw a circle simply. Because we just have to draw like four sides. So if sometimes in other constructions the angle might be given. Then we will use a protector and draw the angle and then the sides of the rhombus.
