Hint- When the measure of one side and diagonal rectangle is given, first draw one side and then from this draw the diagonal and then proceed.
Complete step-by-step answer:
Construction-
Step 1-First draw the line segment let us consider it as BC=5cm
Step2-From point C and B construct an angle of 90 degree.
Step 3-Take point C as centre
Step 4- From this point C cut an arc of 6.8cm on the perpendicular which is drawn from a point B which will give us point A
Step 5-Join the points A and B which will give us the line segment AB
Step 6-From point A cut an arc of 5 cm at point D
Step 7-Join AC , which will give us the diagonal of the rectangle of length 6.8cm
Step 8-Now, after joining all the points this will give us the required rectangle
So, after constructing by following all these steps, we get the rectangle as follows
Note: When solving construction problems, make sure to construct the figure in accordance with the given data, in case of rectangles and squares all the four angles are equal = 90 degree and in rectangle, opposite sides are equal, and in squares all four sides are equal. We can make use of these properties and construct the figure.
