Rhizomes are the reproductive structures of the colocasia plant and it is a stem which grows underground. The colocasia plant is approximately 3-5 feet tall.
It has some kind of irritant in it which causes discomfort to lips, mouth and throat. These all are processed by soaking it, or cooking it, because it is edible in nature. The leaves and roots of this plant are very much rich in carbohydrates, minerals, proteins etc. It also contains many micronutrients as well like magnesium, copper, zinc etc.
