Generic drugs are the pharmaceutical drugs which are similar to the brand name drugs and are developed by the other companies similar to that of brand name drugs. These drugs have the same clinical benefit to that of the brand name drugs but they differ in color, density, name and the filler ingredients etc. These generic drugs are subjected to the government rules and regulations.

These drugs cost much less than the branded drugs. Brand names are specified with the first word capitalized, where the generic names are always written in small letters. Many companies produce generic drugs as the same as brand drugs but their quality and the power to cure diseases differs. This is because the filler ingredients they use differs from one company to another.
