Hint: The manner in which a functional group is indulging in a chemical reaction can easily be modified with the help of some other functional groups and these groups can also be interconverted again.

Complete answer:
-Two molecules with different sizes but containing the same functional groups with them will take part in chemical reactions which are similar or exactly the same. The presence of a functional group in a molecule basically means that the behaviour and the chemical reactions of that molecule can be predicted in a very systematic fashion.
-The presence of some functional groups in a molecule is also going to affect the solubility and the tendency to form complexes of the molecules. Just consider if the functional groups of the solute and the solvent interact well then it will eventually increase the solubility. Just for an example take this case, sugar and water, they both contain the -OH (hydroxyl) group and sugar can be dissolved in water without any issue.
-In some of the cases where a highly electronegative functional group gets attached to a less electronegative atom or molecule then a polarity arises which eventually enables the initially nonpolar molecule to get soluble in water or with other aqueous environments.
-CHO is the functional group of “aldehyde”, these are the members of a class of organic chemical compounds which are represented by the general structural formula given by R-CHO where R can be hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical substituted or unsubstituted substance.

Note:
In the aldehydes, the carbonyl groups mostly have only one hydrogen atom that is attached to it together with either a second hydrogen atom or a hydrogen group which might be an alkyl group or the one which has a benzene ring with it.
