-Aqueous solutions of acids are electrolytes which mean that they can conduct an electrical current because of the dissociated ions.
-Acids have a sour taste which can also be tasted in citric fruits as they all contain acids as one of their components.
-Certain acid-base indicators change color in contact with acids. Two common examples of indicators are litmus paper and phenolphthalein where blue litmus turns red in the presence of an acid while phenolphthalein turns colorless.
-Acids react with metals to liberate hydrogen gas such as $Zn(s)+{{H}_{2}}S{{O}_{4}}(aq)\to ZnS{{O}_{4}}(aq)+{{H}_{2}}(g)$.
-When acids react with bases, they produce a salt compound and water which is known as neutralization reaction. When the same moles of an acid and a base react, the acid gets neutralized by the base.
-The pH of acids lies in between 0 to 6.9. Also strong acids are very corrosive in nature.
