Hint :Hydrostatics also known as fluid statics is a part of fluid mechanics that helps us understand fluids at hydrostatic equilibrium and the pressure in the fluid. It helps us study the conditions under which the fluid present is in stable equilibrium as opposed to this fluid dynamics.
Complete Step By Step Answer:
Hydrostatic pressure is the pressure that is exerted by a fluid at a point, because of the weight of above the fluid. This pressure in vessels of blood is due to the weight above the vessels. As blood is a fluid hence it has hydrostatic pressure.
Additional Information:
The veins and capillaries present in our feet are about $ 100mm $ $ Hg $ more pressure inside than that present at heart level. The hydrostatic pressure of an upraised hand is about $ 50mmHg $ less than at heart level. There is a presence of hydraulic pressure too in blood vessels which is caused when heart pumps. This pressure results from pushing the liquid through a pipe. There is presence of osmotic pressure too which depends on the concentration of solutes on either side of the vessel wall. Hence blood pressure has hydrostatic pressure, osmotic pressure as well as hydraulic pressure. In the field of medicine, this pressure in blood vessels is the pressure of the blood against its wall. It is the opposing force to ontonic pressure.
Note :
There is an increased amount of hydrostatic pressure when there is increase in elevation. This pressure is not the only pressure available that is present in the blood vessel. There is a presence of three types of pressure: hydrostatic pressure, osmotic pressure and hydraulic pressure.
