The mucous fills up the airways and reduces the amount of air that passes through. Increased frequency of these conditions results in an asthma attack that causes excessive coughing, wheezing, and lack of breath. The basic symptoms of asthma include wheezing and whistling sounds while breathing. Uncommon symptoms are tightness in the chest, coughing while sleeping, fatigue, panic, shortness of breath, difficulty in talking, etc. There are various types of asthma:
Allergic asthma: This type of asthma is triggered by certain allergens such as pollen, food particles, etc.
Non-allergic asthma: This type of asthma is triggered by non-allergens such as wood flame, smoke, air pollution, perfumes, etc.
Occupational asthma: Asthma triggered due to substances found in the workplace triggers this type of asthma. These substances can include dust particles, dyes, gas fumes, etc.
Asthma isn’t a curable disease but it can be controlled. For some asthma patients, it is easily controlled which might seem to be cured.
