Hint - Rama Setu, is a series of limestone rocks between the island of Pamban, also known as Rameswaram Island, south of Tamil Nadu, India. The eastern coast and the island of Manipur is far from the northwest. Apart from the Palk Strait, the other feature that distinguishes India from Sri Lanka is Ramsetu.

Complete Step by step answer - Adam's Bridge, also known as Rama's Bridge, is a series of shoals from the southeastern coast of India, between the islands of Mannar and Rameswaram near northwest Sri Lanka. The bridge is 30 miles (48 km) long and separates the Gulf of Mannar (southwest) from the bridge strait (north east). Some of the sandbanks are dry, and nowhere are shoals more than 4 feet (1 m) deep. Thus, they seriously impede navigation. The dredging operation, now abandoned, was started as early as 1838, but was never successful in maintaining a channel for any vessels other than light drafts.
Geological evidence suggests that Adam's Bridge represents a former land connection between India and Sri Lanka. Traditionally, it is said to be the remnant of a giant steward created by Rama, the hero of the Hindu epic Ramayana, to pave his army from India to Ceylon (Sri Lanka) to rescue his abducted wife Sita. According to Muslim legend, Adam went to Adam's Peak Ceylon, on top of which he repented on one leg for 1,000 years.
The accumulation of sediment in a river channel or on a continental shelf that is dangerous to ships. On the continental shelf, it is traditionally less than 10 m (33 ft) below the water level at low tide. Shoals are essentially similar factors that produce offshore bars.

Option B is the correct answer.

Note - Palk Strait in the inlet of Bay of Bengal between South India and Northern Sri Lanka. It is bounded on the south by Pamban Island (India), Adam (Rama's) Bridge (a chain of Thanedars) Gulf of Mannar and Mannar Island (Sri Lanka). The southwestern part of the Strait is also known as Palak Bay. The strait is 40 to 85 miles (64 to 137 km) wide, 85 miles long and less than 330 feet (100 m) deep. It receives several rivers including Vaigai (India), and includes several islands towards Sri Lanka. The commercial center of northern Sri Lanka is located on the Strait of Jaffna harbor. Many islands are limited to small vessels through long straits. In addition, a period of unrest in northern Sri Lanka has disrupted the strait between Sri Lanka and the state of Tamil Nadu in India.
