Hint: Muhi-Uddin Muhammad commonly known as Aurangzeb was the sixth mughal ruler who ruled major parts on Indian subcontinent. He fought the protracted war in 1652.

Complete Step by Step answer: Aurangzeb fought the protracted war in the year 1652 in the Deccan. He was one of the four sons of Shahjahan. He was appointed as the viceroy of Deccan in 1936, under the rule of Shahjahan. He spent the last 25 years of his rule in Deccan. Aurangzeb produced tax revenue from Deccan for Mughals. Though it is believed that there was a poor revenue system, Aurangzeb ignored the problem and let corruption grow. The condition of Deccan was so poor and impoverished that he appointed Murshid Quli Khan to improve and extend the tax revenue system, after which loans were provided and the situation got better. Aurangzeb during his reign annexed Baglana, Golconda and Bijapur, with an objective to conquer Marathas and execute sambhaji. The policy of Deccan was diplomatic and a political one, it was believed that through the annexation of Bijapur and Golconda Aurangzeb deconstructed the power and influence of Marathas in Deccan.
However there is no mention of wars fought by Aurangzeb in Sindh and Punjab.

Thus, The correct answer is Option B

Note: Until 1652 Aurangzeb was appointed a governor of Multan and Sindh. He ruled between the period 1658 to 1707. His efforts in 1649 and 1652 to remove Safavids from Kandahar proved to be a failure.
