Hint: Raw materials like agricultural waste, municipal waste, green waste, etc can be used for the production of biogas. It is used for the purpose of heating, like for cooking.

Complete Answer:Methan is a village in the Patan district of Gujarat where the largest biogas plant of India has been installed. It is estimated that approximately 500 tonnes of fuelwood is saved by the village annually and this is being done by the village for more than 15 years.

In the absence of oxygen (anaerobically) when the breakdown of organic material happens it leads to the production of a mixture of gases known as biogas and this primarily consists of methane and carbon dioxide.

Fuel is one way biogas can be used and apart from this it is used for to heat while cooking food. As the energy in the gas can be converted into electricity and heat therefore it can also be used in a gas engine.

A deep blue flame is produced by biogas, this is because it is highly flammable as typically 50-75 percent of the biogas is methane and this can be used as a great energy source.

Therefore the correct answer is option C.

Note: Biogas is a good example of renewable sources of energy and such energy is very useful as it is collected from renewable resources, naturally replenishable, like sunlight, wind, waves, etc. ‘Gobar Gas’ is another term which is commonly used in India when referring to biogas.
