Hint: For the proper growth of the sugarcane, the right steps should be followed. It involves proper agricultural processes. There are two types of sugarcanes; tropical canes which are thick and juicy, having higher sugar content and the Indian canes that have low sugar content.
Complete step by step answer: The steps involved in the cultivation of sugarcane crops are as follows:
a. Land preparation: This process is also called tillage. It involves mechanical manipulation of the soil to make it favourable for the growth of crops.
b. Ploughing of the field: It is also a very important practice, as it involves the breakage of large soil particles into smaller ones so that germination of seed can be easier.
c. Sowing: After ploughing, sowing of seeds is done in which the seed is placed in the soil.
d. Manuring: Manuring involves the application of nutrients to the seed in the form of manures or fertilizers like urea.
e. Irrigation: it is one of the crucial steps in crop production as it involves the application of water to the seed for its proper growth.
f. Harvesting: It involves the cutting of crops once it is fully grown for the purpose of eating or business.
g. Sending crops to sugar factories: It is the last step towards sugar production, in which the harvested sugarcane is sent to the sugar factory for the production of sugar from it.
Hence, the correct sequence is 5,6,4,7,2,3 and 1.
Note: Brazil ranks first in area and production of sugarcane followed by India. The sequence of the production of sugarcane goes in this order, i.e. Brazil> India > Cuba > China. Sugar is extracted from sugarcane, sugarbeet, sorghum and sugar palm.
