The electoral process empowers the people to bring down the governments that do not work in their favour and consequently allows them to elect a new government

Complete answer:
People can express their dissatisfaction with any of the government's decisions that do not go in their favour in the following ways :
1. Writing letters to the minister (local, state-level or national level) who have rolled out that decision - All the elected parliamentarians are public servants thus they can be directly approached through official letters to show their dissatisfaction.
2. Public protests - Public protests can be organised. It is a demonstration by a group of people (small/large) on the streets in order to bring attention to their issues. Such protests are usually carried out around public properties or the property of the organiser.
3. Signature campaign - Signatures of many people are collected to reform or repeal a law that does not favour the citizens.
4. Ask the government to rethink etc.

Note:
Media has an important role in channelising the griefs and issues of the public. It brings the issue to a larger scale. It effectively brings public concern to the attention of the government. This can help more people to join a cause that they did not know of in the first place. This can be only achieved through unbiased media.
