Hint: First of all, we need to complete the given chemical equation to determine the exact mole ratio of the same. Mole ratio is also popularly known as stoichiometric coefficients i.e. mole ratio is the ratio of the stoichiometric coefficients of the reactants and products.
Complete answer:
Let us study the concept and answer the given question;
The mole ratio is the ratio of stoichiometric coefficients in the balanced equation. It is simply the number written before the chemical formula in the respective chemical equation which properly describes the reaction in the system.
For given system, the balanced chemical equation is;
\[{{H}_{2}}+C{{l}_{2}}\to 2HCl\]
This will be read as – one mole of hydrogen reacts with one mole of chlorine to form two moles of hydrochloric acid. Thus, from this we can see that the stoichiometric coefficients of ${{H}_{2}}$ , $C{{l}_{2}}$ and HCl are 1, 1 and 2 respectively. Thus, the mole ratio of this system will be $1:1:2$ .
Note:
Do note that the concept of stoichiometry and mole ratios is the same with some different calculations. To determine the stoichiometric coefficients or the mole ratios, the chemical equation needs to be balanced at first attempt otherwise we will get wrong answers.
