Right to equality means that every person should be equal before the law. There shall be no discrimination among persons. These are the following main features of Right to equality.

> According to Article 14, everyone is equal before law and everyone has equal protection of laws.
> According to Article 15, State can not discriminate against any citizen on grounds of religion, race, sex, place of birth,race etc.
> According to Article 16, Everyone has equal opportunity in public employment.
> According to Article 17, ‘Untouchability’ is a punishable offence.
> Article 18 abolishes titles except military and academic titles.

Note:
Article 15 provides that the state can not discriminate against any citizen on grounds of religion, sex, caste, race or place of birth. but there are exceptions to this provision.
Government can make any special provisions for women and children.
Government can make any special provisions for any socially and educationally backward classes.
Government can make provision for the economically weaker sections of citizens.
