Hint:The Earth is mainly divided into three layers:
(I) Core: The innermost layer
(II) Crust: The outermost skin of the earth. The layer which supports life in the universe
(III) Mantle: Mantle consists of basic silicates.
Complete answer:
The earth’s surface is basically made up of Core, Mantle, and crust. At the Earth’s center lies a dense core. The core is the very hot and very dense planet of the earth’s surface. That is made up of metal. It is the densest layer, which is composed of Nickel and Iron called NIFE. Beneath the mantle is the core. Earth’s core is the hottest layer and is made up of two sub layers.
The core consists of two sub-layers:
Inner core: The inner core is solid, and is about 750 miles thick. The inner core is made primarily of iron. The iron in the inner core is mainly solid.
Outer core: The outer core is basically semiliquid. It is about 1400 miles thick and is made up of a combination of iron and nickel called Alloy. Along with iron and nickel other dense elements like platinum, gold, and uranium.
Barysphere is used to refer to Core.
The core is mainly made up of metal: especially iron and nickel, Elements that dissolve in iron which is called siderophiles are also found in the core.
Note:Mantle: It is mainly composed of Silicates, major constituents are magnesium and silica called (SIMA)
Crust: Crust is made up of rocks and minerals. Beneath the crust is the mantle which is mainly of solid rocks and minerals.
