Fracture: A fracture is the breakage of the bone. It can be a complete breakage or the partial or incomplete breakage.
Types of fractures are as follows-
Fractures are usually classified into four types based on the degree of the breaking. These four classes are as follows –
a. Simple fracture: It is a fracture that breaks the bones into two completely different parts. The one bone is fully separated after the fracture. It is very little to minimal damage to the surrounding tissues. Also, there is no break in the overlying skin.
b. Greenstick fracture: It is a break in the bone only in the form of a crack, where the broken parts are still holding together.
c. Comminuted fracture: It is a fracture in which the bone is broken into more than two fragments with some of the fragments losing all types of connection with the blood circulation.
d. Compound fracture: It is a fracture in which the broken ends of the fractured bone protrude out through the skin.

Note:
Fracture should not be confused with the dislocation of the sprain and strain. Many people consider these terms synonymous when they have very different meanings in medicine.
