Hint: We are given an application based question. Similar triangles refer to two more triangles being similar in aspects of length of sides, angles, etc. The concept of similar triangles is very much of use in our lives. If we want to find the height of an object, say a building or a tower, we can do so by measuring the length of the shadows and then using the similar triangles, we can find the height of the required object.
Complete step-by-step solution:
According to the given question, we are asked to tell the application of similar triangles in our real or daily life.
Similar triangles can be said to be a relation between two triangles if their three sets of corresponding sides are similar. Also, if an angle of one of the triangles is congruent to the similar angle in the other triangle along with the length of the sides are proportional, we can call these triangles similar.
This concept of similar triangles is used in architecture while constructing houses, the length of a beam can be found by using the similar triangles rule. Also, if we have to find the length of an object, say for example a tall building or a tower or even a tree, we can proceed by measuring the length of the shadows of those objects and then using the similar triangles rule, we can find the height of the required object.
Note: The similar triangle’s rule cannot be applied indefinitely. Only after fulfilling the conditions as mentioned can the two triangles be considered similar and only then the similar triangle’s property is used.
