Hint: In order to solve this question we need to understand how we see the objects through our eyes. So, light from various sources fall on objects since all surfaces are not smooth so diffused reflection occur and the reflected light enters in our eyes where it first intercepted by cornea which decide how much light enters in our eye then it falls on eye lenses and they converge those rays and made to fall on retina of eye, retina of eye have photoreceptors nerves which sends the information to brain and the our brain intercepts that what is shape and size of the object that we are seeing. So in this way we can see the objects around us.

So rods are the rod shaped cells which perceive the shape and size of the object in dim light or in less intensity of light. Cones are cone shaped cells present in the retina along with rod cells which perceive the shape and size of objects in bright light or in high intensity of light.We cannot see in dim light or at night while the owl can because we have less number of rod cells in our eyes compared to owl’s eyes.
Note: It should be remembered that we cannot see in dim light or have poor vision at night but we see in daylight more properly but the owl cannot so in short we have opposite eye structure in comparison to owls. After intercepting light retina converts into chemical and electrical stimuli nerve cells could carry the information easily.
