Hint: Most of the cooking vessels are made of metals. As cooking is a process that involves using heat, the vessel of cooking should be tolerant of rapid changes in temperature. To be heat tolerant that material should have a very high melting point.

Complete step by step answer:
Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity. They are also malleable and ductile. Metals are generally denser than other materials. In the case of metals, strong electrostatic attraction force bonds between the metals are so strong enough to resist the changes due to heating.
As metals are good in conducting heat, it can transfer heat very quickly and evenly. Generally, copper, aluminum metals are used for cooking vessels as they are very good conductors of heat.
Due to this reason’s metals are used in cooking vessels.

Additional information:
Pickle of mango or lemon, a vinegar induced pickle, sauces, jams, should not be stored in the copper vessel. Because these foods react with the copper. Which causes weakness, nausea, and even depression. When any copper and alloy of copper metal surfaces come in contact with acidic foods, the copper may be leached into the food.

Note:
The vessels of cooking are made of metals but their handles are made of plastic because plastic is a poor conductor of heat. As a result, the handles do not get heated and able to hold during cooking. In the same way, metals are also used in bells, because they have a property to produce a ringing sound on striking.
