Hint:The properties of the metals are those parameters which we could observe by analyzing or identifying with the aid of other reagents and distinguish from the other non-metal elements. The physical and chemical properties give all the ideas and data about that element.

Complete step-by-step answer:So here we are supposed to explain any five properties of metals. We know that in periodic table elements are classified into metals, nonmetals and metalloids. There are many parameters that can be observed and help us distinguish between the elements. Elements always will have lustrous texture compared to the non-metals which are dull in appearance, and it will be generally hard and rigid in nature whereas the non-metals are soft.
We know that generally discussing about the properties of an element we classify the properties into two classes: Physical properties and chemical properties
Physical properties are those which we can observe by seeing and which is measurable, like colour, density, hardness or softness, boiling point, melting point etc.
Chemical properties are the properties which we can observe only when we carry out the reaction of the element with any reagent.
So now let us discuss few properties of metals:
- Malleability- It is a property in which the element of concern can be hammered into thin sheets, Metals are malleable substances, since they can be drawn into thin sheets.
-Ductility-It is the property of the element, in which it can be drawn into wires. Metals are ductile since they can be drawn into wires.
-They are very good conductors of electricity and heat. And they are sonorous i.e. they make ringing sounds when hit hard.
-Metals are very reactive towards the chemicals. The metals react with oxygen to form the oxides, which will have basic character.
$Metal+{{O}_{2}}\to Metal\,oxide$
-And metals react with acid to form the salts of the corresponding metal along with evolution of hydrogen gas.
$Metal+Acid\to Salt+{{H}_{2}}$

Note:Mercury is the only metal that exists in the liquid state. Other metals are all in solid state, very hard and rigid, except Na and K they are so soft and can be cut by a knife.
Ag being the best conductor of heat and electricity, Copper is also a good conductor of heat and electricity, but Fe and Hg being the worst conductor of electricity and Pb being the poor conductor of heat.
