Hint: We will first find the total cost price of potatoes by multiplying 9,000 with Rs. 15, then we will find the selling price of one-third of the total weight, that is, 3,000 kg potatoes by multiplying it with Rs. 50. Finally, we will subtract the cost price from the selling price, to find the profit made by Aradhya.

Complete step-by-step answer:
It is given in the question that Aradhya buys 9,000 kg potatoes for Rs. 15 per kg and when she dries it for chips, it becomes one-third of the total weight. She then sells the chips for Rs. 50 per kg. And we have been asked to find profit made by her.
As we have been given, the cost price of 1kg potato is Rs. 15. And it is said that Aradhya buys 9000 kg potatoes. So, we can say that the total cost price of 9000 kg potatoes will be,
$\begin{align}
  & 9000\times 15 \\
 & Rs.135000 \\
\end{align}$
Now, it is said that when she dries the 9000kg of potatoes for chips, the weight becomes one-third of the total weight. So, we get the weight of the chips as, $\dfrac{1}{3}\times 9000=3000kg$.
As she sells 1 kg chips for Rs. 50. We can say that the selling price of 1kg of chips is equal to Rs. 50. So, we can write the total selling price of 3000kg chips as $3000\times 50=Rs.150000$.
Now, if we compare the total selling price and total cost price, we get that,
150000 > 135000
That is, we get SP > CP.
Thus, we can understand that there will be a profit. And we know that profit is given by, SP – CP. So, we can write,
Profit = SP – CP
= Rs. 150000 – 135000
= Rs. 15000
Therefore, Aradhya makes a profit of Rs. 15000.

Note: Most of the students miss out the line, the chips become one-third of the total weight. And as a result, to find the total selling price, they multiply 9000 with 50, and get Rs. 450000 as the selling price, but it is wrong as, we have to take the weight as one-third of 9000, that is 3000kg and not as 9000kg. Also, the students can find the profit percentage which is given as, $\text{Profit percentage=}\dfrac{\text{Profit }\!\!\times\!\!\text{ 100}}{\text{CP}}$. In this question, the profit percentage will be, $\dfrac{15000\times 100}{135000}=11.11\%$.
