Hint:Echo is the repetition of sound which is caused by the multiple continuous reflections of the sound waves. Gol Gumbaz at Vijapur is very famous for its amazing echo system. There is a dome built at the centre of the building at the Gol Gumbaz which is responsible for many of the major functions of the building.

Complete step by step answer:
Gol Gumbaz is found at Vijayapura, formerly referred to as Bijapur. It was constructed within the 17th century by the seventh ruler of the Adil Shahi dynasty and is the tomb of Mohammed Adil Shah. Vijayapura is 540 kilometers faraway from Bangalore, the capital city of Indian state Karnataka. Gol Gumbaz with a height of 51 meter and diameter of 37 meters with 3 meter thick walls is cover approximately 1700 square meters. It is in Islamic architectural style.

About 20 years were spent for the entire construction of this massive tomb. One of the most significant features of the Gol Gumbaz is its central dome which stands without the support of pillars and it is the second largest dome in the world after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The sound which is produced here gets reflected throughout the dome hence producing an echo of a minimum of three to fourfold during a second. If the surroundings inside the architecture are very quiet, then one could even hear the echo for at least 7 to 10 times.

Hence, the central dome is the most important reason for the production of multiple echoes in Golghumat at Vijapur. The amazing echo system witnesses the marvelous combination of sound and engineering. Any sound at this place echoes for over eleven times when there is no external noise or hindrance. The system is best designed such that you'll even hear the tick of a watch across a distance of about 37 meter within the vast dome. Even after numerous hundred years the echo system is unbroken.

Note:Echo can also be heard at mountain ranges. When a sound wave is produced at the deep mountain ranges like the Himalayas, then because the sound wave strikes to different mountain peaks, it causes multiple reflections and echo is produced. Also, animals such as bats use echo depth sounding as an advanced navigation system.
