The natural vegetation of Rajasthan plain is Desert Thorn Forest. Since the whole region contains sandy soil and bare rocks that are exposed to rain, sunlight and wind. The vegetable cover is very scarce and there are a few trees mostly shrubs and herbs. This area receives rainfall of about 20 to 30 cm. It is prone to fire and droughts very frequently.
Shrubs are thorny like cacti and aloe vera and have a stunted growth because of scanty rainfall. Animals like camels live here because they can survive without water for a longer duration of time.
