The book ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’ describes Anne Frank and Margot Frank as sisters, having completely opposite characteristics. They were always in conflict terms due to the differences in character. While Margot was obedient and compliant by nature, Anne was more defiant. Margot was a quiet person, while Anne was very talkative and often punished in class for being disobedient and talkative.

The two girls had inherited the opposite characteristics of their parents. While Margot was like her mother-soft spoken and calm, Anne was like her father. Anne was an independent girl and wanted to openly express her opinions and lead from the front. But Margot liked to remain on the sidelines and work according to instructions given. Anne hated being compared with her sister, who was always in the good books of everyone for her nature.

With the progress of time and with the onset of crisis, Margot and Anne were forced to set aside their differences and accept each other in the way they were.
