Hint: This a word problem based on work efficiency. Here in this question, we have to find how many balls made by David at the time of anna made 48 balls. There are different strategies used to solve a this type of word problem, here we have to solve this by using simple basic operation like subtraction and addition we get the required solution

Complete step by step answer:
As we know, efficiency essentially means the rate of work, i.e., the amount of work done in unit time. The more time one takes to complete a job, the less efficient the person is. Similarly, the less time one takes to complete a job, the more efficient the person is.
Here we have two persons namely, Ann and David. They both manufacture dolls. And they will work equally.
Here in this case David will start earlier than Ann. But their efficiency is the same.
The Number of dolls manufactured by Ann is 12
The Number of dolls manufactured by David is 24
The difference between them is 24 – 12 = 12
The David made 12 dolls extra when compare to Ann
Then Ann manufactures 48 dolls.
Here we have to find the dolls manufactured by David.
Since the work efficiency is the same, if Ann manufactures the 48 dolls then David also manufactures 48 dolls. David started early and he has manufactured 12 dolls extra. So we have to add 48 and 12 it gives the result.
Therefore the total dolls manufactured by the David is 48 + 12 = 60

Note: While solving the problems related to the work and efficiency topic we have specified formula. But here we won’t use any kind of formulas. because the word problem is a direct problem. and the efficiency of both workers is the same. Just by using the simple arithmetic operations we determine the solution.
