Hint:Before talking about the answer, you should know about kinetic energy that is released during the motion. Kinetic energy depends upon the boltzmann constant and temperature.
Kelvin scale is defined as a scale which begins at absolute zero. It is used to calculate the temperature. zero kelvin is a temperature where all molecular motion stops.
Formula used: $T={{t}^{\circ }}C+273$
Where, $T$ is the temperature in Kelvin
$t$ is the temperature in Celsius
Complete step by step answer:
Before talking about the answer, we should talk about temperature. Temperature is defined as the average energy of particles due to kinetic energy. Kinetic energy is defined as the energy released during the motion. The formula for kinetic energy is:
$K.E=\dfrac{3}{2}KT$
Where, $K$ is the Boltzmann constant
For $0K$ , The temperature is $-{{273}^{\circ }}C$ . It can be negative and positive for the Celsius scale.
But for the Kelvin scale it is never going to be negative.
Let us see an example:
From the above formula $T={{t}^{\circ }}C+273$ we can solve this problem.
At ${{0}^{\circ }}C=0+273=273K$
$-{{50}^{\circ }}C=-50+273=223K$
$-{{273}^{{}}}$ $-{{273}^{\circ }}C=-273+273=0K$
Hence we see that the lowest value on the kelvin scale is zero .
This proves that all the temperatures in the Kelvin scale are in positive figures.
Additional Information:
Temperature can be calculated from two different types of scales.
Celsius scale: it is also defined as the centigrade scale. It ranges from ${{0}^{\circ }}$ for the freezing point of water to ${{100}^{\circ }}$ for the boiling point of the water. The reason it is known as a centigrade scale as it divides into $100$ degrees.
Kelvin scale: this scale begins at absolute zero.
Thermometer is used to measure the temperature , where low temperature means low kinetic energy that means less expansion and at high temperature, kinetic energy is increased with increase in expansion.
Note:
The lowest temperature in Kelvin is zero. Kelvin scale is used by the scientists because zero reflects the complete absence of thermal energy. It is an absolute temperature that relates directly to kinetic energy and volume.
