Complete answer: Al-Beruni wrote Kitab ul-hind in 1017 in Arabic. What was unique about this work was how he used his mathematical and analytical orientation in dividing topics and structuring the chapters while the matters he wrote about were socio-cultural in nature. He studied multiple religions including Islam, Buddhism, Zoroastrainism, Hinduism (heavy Brahmin influence) and Christinaity. He passed away in the year 1048.
The correct answer is option A, Muhammad Ghazni who has looted India several times, notably the Somnath temple in Gujarat.
Option B. Qasim was an Arab military commander who is the first Muslim to conquer Sindh. He was from the Umayyad dynasty and led these conquests for the Khalifa.
Option C. Ghuri or Ghor was from the dynasty of the same name in Afghanistan and is touted to lay the foundations of Muslim rule in India. After Ghazni’s conquest however, they made a switch to Buddhism.
Option D. Timur (1336-1405) was the first ruler of the Timurid (following the Sunni sect of Islam) dynasty and had Turkish and Mongol origins. He shares in-law lineage with Genghis Khan and his successors were the Mughals.
