The All India Muslim League was founded in early years of the twentieth century by the progeny of the former Mughal service elite. It started as an institution that would bring the Muslim people up with respect to the standards of western education and provide strong support to All India Congress so as to follow the path to gain complete freedom. Being a minority and thus underrepresented in the electoral group, made it more difficult for Muslims to make their voices be heard.
The aims and objectives of this organization were:
AIM – To get equal treatment from British government and get all kind of constitutional rights and freedom without any partial discrimination.

OBJECTIVES -
• To convince and make Muslims feel safe and have faith on the British Government
• To provide all Muslims with equal political rights as other sections of society and be treated equivalently in terms of status and rights by the government.
• To preserve the feeling of communal harmony among Muslims so they don’t have any bitter feeling towards other communities

In year 1906, The Muslim league was formed as a political organization by Khwaja Salimullah, Vikar-ul-Mulk, Syed Amir Ali, Syed Nabiullah, Khan Bahadur Ghulam and Mustafa Chowdhury in the conference of the Muhammadan Educational Conference at Dhaka. The motion passed for ban on political actions was removed and the Muslim League or All India Muslim League (AIML)was allowed to form.
